I'm pretty convinced that time goes way faster for the weekend than it does the rest of the week. I find myself sitting here before church on Sunday wondering where the weekend has gone! It seems like it was just Friday night, and now, it's almost time to get the new week started. Part of it I'm sure is the dealing with the incredibly busy schedule. This weekend so far I've worked what seems like a full day on the house, doing the little jobs that need to be looked at. I'm not sure where Heather comes up with some of these things, but she'll come in to the office here and say, "It's time to hang the things in the living room," or "Please hang that blind over the door in the entry way," or "Please pick up your tools lying around down stairs." It keeps me on my toes. We also attended our second wedding in as many weekends this weekend as my old roommate Jon got married. Jon and Renee will be pretty much the only married friends we have our age here in Mitchell. Well, I guess I should say that they are the only married friends we spend time around here in Mitchell. But, Heather and I have gotten some good ideas, and now this weekend we sit down and go through what we've seen over the past two weeks and how we're going to things in our wedding. It's now only 125 days away. That time seems to be fleeting quickly too. Still some things to get planned out, but we are pretty much on schedule.
Today, coming up, I'll get ready for church and then come back home to a leftover dinner (stew and tator tot casserole, two of my favorites). I pretty much am marrying an amazing cook. That might not bid well for my waist line, but I'll be happy! Included in this afternoon is watching the Vikings game, and then assembling my birthday present. I got on a bit early because the other day we were in Menards and found grills on sale. I'm taking another step foward in not only am I enjoying purchasing power tools, now I have a grill! So, hopefully I can get that assembled tonight and Pork Chops will be grilled up! I remember a quote I saw a while back on a shirt. "Grilling: Men will cook if there is danger involved."

Relax...it's Saturday!
It almost feels like there is no rest any more. It seems like just having moved in and there is so much to do. Last night, Heather and I spent time hanging new curtains, and putting the living room together, and I started working on my list that Heather has done for me. I've made some good progress, and feel like I'm almost caught up on a majority of things. Now, I just need to get everything wrapped up and figure how to get rid of my old carpet. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, since I'm now without the pickup from dad. It might have to make a trip down here soon to see the carpet go. I've got a handful of things to do yet, a window to fix, and 2 other things on my list, however, I've already fixed the leak sink which was number 1 on the list.
Part of the curtain installation gave me a passage forward as a man. I now own powertools! The drill/driver was a must for hanging the curtain rods, and I've found several other uses for it since purchasing it last night! I'm linking this whole deal too of having the house, and making improvement. I feel much more grown up spending my money on parts for the house instead of a DVD. Ohh, there will still be plenty of them purchased, but just not high on the priority list currently. I'll have some pictures up here soon, after everything is finalized and cleaned up. I'll provide those of you who won't make it down with the full tour. Ohh, and I've got my Christmas lights up already. That's right! I'm ready for the holidays. Last weekend was so nice, I couldn't help not put them up. I'm first on my block, so I'm already making my neighbors look bad!! That's just how I roll!

Moving Day!
I don't like moving. I don't like change. This, however, is obviously necessary. I'm moving because my roommate is getting married in two weeks, and I won't be a third wheel. That could be slightly awkward. So, I bought a house instead. Now, all that rent money that was being paid out will be going to something I can actually eventually own. I sign the papers this afternoon, then begin moving right away. There is cleaning, painting, unpacking, carpet cleaning, all kinds of things to do. I've already gotten on the ball and changed the electricity over and the public works. Coming up will be the hardware store for more paint and paint accessories and the post office. Later on, the washer and dryer will get picked up in Sioux Falls, and then moved into the house, and before the end of the month, will be the moving all my address info and vehicle and everything over to the new address. This is alot of stuff to do, and enough of a hassle that I don't want to be a constant mover, that's for sure. I don't want to do this again for another 20 years, that's my plan. We'll see if life actually goes that way or not.
I've suddenly had to pack all this into this weekend because of the trip I'm being sent on. Actually, I'm being sent away a couple times coming up here before the end of the year. Kinda bummed that Heather and I have a house now, and I won't even be home to enjoy it the first week. That part is a major downer, but I'll be back soon. The weekend following that week will be one of home improvement and enjoyment, and the start of a brutal late fall weekend run. The next 3 weekends we have Wedding, Wedding, Thanksgiving. Crazyness is about to abound around here, that's for sure.

Season Ending
I didn't really think of myself as someone who would become a major volleyball fan. But, when you have a good reason to go to some games, I guess you really become one. Tonight it was to Mt. Vernon for the districts to begin, it's like the second season. Well, things didn't go to well for the higher seed tonight, and it ended in a heart breaking 5 set loss. It's always hard to see a season end, but all good things get there eventually as the saying goes. It's like Heather said, it's always a matter of who wants it more. When you look at a program who has been perennially a team that loses most of it's games and is written off early in the season, and suddenly, they go from worst in the district to just missing 3rd seed, and the first winning season in the programs history, it's great to see the girls with something to be proud of. So, here's the props to the Mitchell Christian girls volleyball team.

Weekend off!
Well, I guess it wasn't quite a weekend off, but the closest thing I've had to one off in a long time. I have found that my weekend is just something I do to stay busy until I go back to work on Monday. That's pretty much backwards, isn't it. Doesn't the song say that everyone is working for the weekend? I work the weekend so things slow down when I go to work during the week. It's just crazyness, and now it's approaching time to move things down here to get settled into the house. The closing date was set for a week from tomorrow, however, my boss has asked me to move it up so that I can be on the road again next week. Looks like I could potentially be on the road for 2 of the remaining weeks of the year. So, I could be closing on Friday instead, and then turn and leave on Sunday. My first week owning a house, and I wouldn't even get to be there for it. Sad day! Well, we'll see how it turns out. I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow if the realtor moved everything or not. Just one more thing to pile on to the crazyness.
