I've fallen into the category of a bad blogger. A good one would update this thing once in awhile. I tell myself that soon things will slow down, but I feel like we're like that cartoon snowball racing down the hill getting bigger and faster with every second! But, it's always a point to enjoy life, and I'm just poor at getting this thing updated.
Today, was another one of those small world days. The past few weeks in church I've been seeing this could that I feel like I know that I know, or at least I thought he looked incredibly familiar. Recently, we've had some changes to the praise team, and today, he and his wife were the leaders. Heather leaned over and whispered something to me about this couple, and said, "Nate and his wife......" At that point, it clicked. Everything aligned. Nate! I rewound about 6 years to a small apartment in Little Canada, MN. 2555 Park Street was the location, actually, and it was his apartment. The reason I can remember the suburb town apartment is because it was also my address. I'd lived there too with my buddy Bryan. Nate was the third roommate there. We each had our own rooms, but Nate often worked from 2am on into the day, and then was sleeping when I'd be around with Bryan. But, nonetheless, we'd been roommates. Now, here we were attending the same church in Mitchell, SD. After the service I went up and said, "Nate...." He looked at me with that familiar look and said, "Tyler....no way!" It was a great moment. He told me that he shared with our pastor that he thought that he recognized me and that he did think I was a guy he lived with many years ago. We were both thinking the same thing, but today was the first time we talked and put it all together.
This afternoon, i got the chance to go and catch some softball pitching. I guess, the theory was to attempt to catch some softball pitching. It was a fun afternoon though playing softball with Akina. It reminded me of the first summer they came from Texas to visit and we played catch. Now, it's almost summer time, and I'll maybe venture in on the Pro-Bowl. Saw a Facebook post today that thought the pro-bowl would be more interesting if one team was nothing by kickers. I think that would be a good time....

Blogging from the Road
Well, I'm here again at a hotel. This is one of the 5 different hotels I will be at in the two week period where I've been on the road. Last week, I attempted a nice long post from my mobile phone in the airport. Well, if you've been looking, it's obvious it didn't make it on here.
Last week, I was back in an area where I spent many, many summers: Altus, Oklahoma. I was actaully visting a client we have just across the border in Texas, but I made a trip north to see the town again. I also made a stop at the famed Friendship Inn. There, I was able to have a chicken fried steak. I've tried other chicken fried steaks in other resturants, but none have compared to the ones in Altus. I was able to have another one, just like old times. That was the big highlight of my trip last week. I say that was my trip last week, because my schedule was something like fly to Oklahoma on Monday and drive to the town in Texas we were working at. Fly home on Friday and arrive in the morning. Go home and stay for about a day, and even got up to Huron to see Grandma and Grandpa and Grandpa Pete who as in town. Got home on Friday night around 10:15 and went to work to prepare everything for the next trip, which I left for today. I got back to the airport in Sioux Falls at 10:15 this morning, less than 24 hours since I'd been there the previous day. I left from there to head here to Atlanta, and tomorrow, continue back on to Bermuda. Two weeks in a row on the road, and it doesn't stop when this trip ends.
I will get a break for 3 weeks from traveling for work, but after that 3 weeks, I'm going to be back out here. This weekend though, when I get back home, it's time to head to a new motel. I'm going to Minnesota for my future sister-in-law's wedding. It happens on my brother's birthday, but that will be the fifth and final hotel I'll stay in for this event. It's crazy how busy and how much traveling I'm doing currently. Recently, we had a very expirienced member of out team leave for a new job, so it's putting more of a strain on the rest of us, but we are picking up the pieces, and my pieces happen to send me on the road. So, here I am again, tomorrow, I'll be headed to Bermuda. Any body that is ready for that snow we are supposed to get care to join me?

New Year
Well, I suppose it's resolution time. I'm not one into resolutions, so when asked what I was doing for my new year's resolution, I simply just said that I had none. I've got some goals for this year, but why make a resolution when in 3 months odds are it's over and done with anyway. I read somewhere that 78% of all new years resolutions are not kept 55% of the time. Yeah, figure that one out. So I just figured why bother. I don't want to be a failure 133% of the time. Yikes. So, with the snow and the cold, have a happy new year and try not to fail at your resolutions!
