Poor baby girl

Well, we're back to the tormented little one. She can't seem to avoid picking up tummy aches, and it was bad news for quite a while. Very little sleep, and lots of screaming. It's obvious that she's a growing little girl, and that she needs to take in lots for food. I wish that she'd be able to speak and tell us what the issue is. We have to just guess, and try to keep her quiet. We have spent alot of hours trying to keep her quiet. I told her last night that I loved her and that I loved sleep, and that there was no reason I cannot love her while i sleep. She didn't seem to care alot.

Her newest tricks have been trying to learn what her arms and legs do. She's also in the very start of learning her own voice. Today, I laid her on the floor on her tummy, and she is trying to pick herself up onto her arms and legs. It won't be long and she will be crawling all over the place. Heaven help us when that happens, if we survive to that day. With Heather heading back to work next week, we will be pretty tired out if this all keeps up.

Where did my daughter go?

I asked her this a couple days ago. It seems that someone swapped our sweet baby girl with one that complains and cries alot more. We are working through stomach aches and all kinds of things, and Heather and I are just wanting a sweet baby back that never complained. Well, that's doubtful, so instead of being unrealistic, we just asked her to talk to us and tell us what she wanted instead of just crying. That hasn't been successful either. I'm still trying to get well, so still no holding for me. That is headed into day number 5 so I'm getting pretty much sick of it (no pun intended).

Today though, we went out for a little walk. We spent about 45 minutes outdoors and walking around. Olivia slept the whole time, and I probably would have too if I'd have been wrapped up that tight and that warm. Anyhow, she likes being in her car seat, and being on the move, so that's a good thing. We hope that she can sleep the entire drive from here to Minnesota when we go to visit Heather's family. Time will tell. We have been out and about a little bit here and there with Olivia, but haven't done anything really major. We've not been away from home for longer than 6 hours at a time, so we'll see how we do when that first time comes around.

Sick Days = Not fun for my wife

Thursday and Friday, and now today as well, I've spent sick. It's been a awful few days, but I felt alot better yesterday, but now, not so much. The toughest part we are finding is that Heather has to do everything for Olivia. I've not touched her since Wednesday (as this all started on Thursday morning) and that is KILLING ME. But, it's slowly killing my wife as well. Having to do all the work with Olivia is not an easy task. I keep trying to get better, sleep alot, and drink fluids, but it doesn't appear to be helping. I went to the doctor right away Thursday to see if they could tell if something was happening, but nothing showed up. So, now I'm trying to heal and not kill my wife by her work with Olivia, and trying not to give Olivia what I have.

New Soccer Season / One growing girl

A brand new soccer season kicks off today for us here in Mitchell, and for me as a referee. It's going to be an interesting day though, as I've never done indoor soccer before. It's all played inside on a basketball court, so this should be an adventure all itself. There are some different rules, and I don't know some of them, however, that will be part of the fun. So, that's what I'm up to today and early tomorrow morning before Church.

Well, Little Olivia is not known as "little" so much anymore around our house. She's getting big already. We've seen one month come and go now, and she's growing like a little weed. Of course, that's what it seems like as much as she eats though, I'm not too surprised. She's got me pretty much figured out and how much whining she has to do before I spoil her and pick her up. She's very convincing at making it sound like something is really wrong, and then as soon as you have her lifted off her back, the crying ends and you know that you've been suckered. I fall for it every single time. But, someone has to take care of the poor little thing. As of our month checkup on Tuesday, Olivia had grown 1.5 inches and had gained 2 pounds and 2 ounces since we left the hospital. She is starting to pick up some chunk on the cheeks, but sometimes they look extremely chubby, and sometimes she looks like not a chubby baby. Either way, her daddy loves her and spoils her. Her mother does these things too, but she's got her dad wrapped around her little finger for sure. By reader request, here are a couple photos for you to enjoy.

Best Sick Day Ever

Well, I'm using a sick day or at least part of one. Olivia and Heather both aren't quite feeling 100%, or at least we don't think that Olivia is quite up to 100% but we'll have the doctor opinion this afternoon. Heather will be back to 100% soon, she just needs some extra rest. She's very kindly been allowing me to get alot of sleep overnight despite my telling her not to do it all herself, and to allow me to get up and help her, but I never hear from her. So, last night Olivia was fairly restless and I didn't know this, so I slept through it. Well, now both are not feeling well because of poor rest. Heather is getting some rest, Olivia is making my day by sleeping on my chest. Ohhhhhh, I'm loving life!!
