Tomorrow is Thursday. That's somewhat hard to believe in itself, but it also starts the toughest stretch of games that I have this soccer season. I will do 9 games in 5 days. It's a big weekend starting a bit early for me. The one really nice thing is that every single game is here in town, and I won't see any team more than 2 times. Since there are 6 different teams that will be playing from here in Mitchell alone, it allows for not duplicating games. The really odd thing is that I don't have one single center. I noticed a week ago that I'd been doing alot of center refereeing in the games I was doing. Currently, I'm going to have a 10 game stretch of zero centers. That doesn't happen too often. Guess I should have a word with the guy who does the scheduling......
We have only 10 days remaining of the entire high school season. That's incredibly hard to believe. Heather was jealous when she coached volleyball at how quickly they played through the soccer season. I've been helping the planning committee plan the state tournament, so after October 8, I'll have just a handful of college games left and then I'll be done for the winter. I've got about 7 weeks left before that season will head to the playoffs and I'll actually have time to sit down and breathe again. After the state high school tournament though, things well really slow down. I'm going to get that second half season schedule here very soon though, and then back to the races.
Well, computer's going to die, so coming up soon, I'll do more on games I play with Olivia. Since I figured out how to put videos on the blog, it makes it even more fun!

One weekend off
I got a rare break this weekend. A game cancelation led to a weekend off. Wow, what a nice feeling! So, this weekend was full of some fun activities, including Olivia's first interaction with an animal. Uncle Trent brought Gemma the puppy to meet Olivia yesterday. Olivia and Gemma both weren't too sure what to think.

So long another summer
I always lay claims that while the calendar still says we are in summer, that the "summer season" runs between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Tomorrow that means we prepare for fall. What all does that mean around here? Well, there is lots to do, but mainly my evenings will be occupied by soccer. Otherwise, it's getting the yard ready for winter and any preparations that need to go along with it. We are also preparing for many projects around the house, and for that planning is necessary. Of course, Olivia will always keep us hopping.
Our current projects are pretty simple:
1. Fix the hot tub (again)
2. Finish moving our master bedroom
3. Finish building in the storage room
I've got one small project to wrap up in the bathroom too, but these are the all projects that will continue into winter since I can be doing them indoors. My list seems to change pretty frequently as well, so who knows what might be next. For moving our master bedroom, I don't recall if I mentioned earlier that we purchased a new bed. We had to make changes, for me I had neck problems and for Heather she had back issues, and still is having some issues. They are not bed related, but finally we think the bed is not contributing to the problem.
We spent a couple weeks ago doing some moving around and getting rid of some of the beds we don't need and don't use much. So now we are preparing for a couple things. Getting the guest room set up, and getting the new "play room" set up upstairs. This will be how we plan to operate for the forseeable future around the house. It's fun planning it out, and not so fun moving all the heavy items, but it's going to make life easier as Olivia continues to grow. Speaking of Olivia, for those that haven't seen our big girl in a while and are harassing me about it (you know who you are) here are a couple recent photos.

Being Sick
Well, I'm on Day 7 of a nasty sick spell. This is one of the worst I've had in quite a while now. A couple years ago I was sick following Thanksgiving for four days when I thought death was certain. Eventually, after spending several hundred dollars on tests that I was told were "inconclusive" we never did find out what was wrong. I wanted to tell the hospital that our payment amount was "inconclusive" since they didn't really tell me anything. That didn't work and I had to pay up anyhow. That was a 4 day troubling sickness.
This time around, last week Thursday afternoon, I felt the sore throat set in and then Friday the cold and cough set in. The sore throat ended up getting so bad I ended up sending myself to the hospital on Sunday morning to get drugs to get relief so I could even just swallow. I did get some cough syrup with some other drugs, but all that did was make me tired, it didn't really do much for me. So Monday I followed up with the doctor and he took me off the medication telling me the virus that both Olivia and I had (only Olivia didn't have the sore throat) would run through soon. Well, Monday night, my sinuses backed up and formed a Sinus Infection. That was tons of fun. I spent all day Tuesday with my head trying to explode, and finally on Wednesday, saw a different doctor because mine was out of the office, and I was sent home with a small pharmacy. Thank goodness we met the insurance deductible. After a few hours on the drugs I felt like a human again, and am continuing to improve daily.
Heather is another story. She is having issues of her own and is pretty much out of commission. We are trying to get her problems with her back figured out, and it's pretty rough around here. So, we called in a person that we had to talk really hard to to get to come and take care of Big O. Grandma.....Grandma arrived last night and has proceeded to spoil Olivia for the past day. This has really crossed into some bad timing, as I'm quite busy refereeing 4 to 5 nights a week, and that leaves Big O and Heather to fend for themselves. It's rough right now, but we'll enjoy it in November when the extra cash is in. Well, we'll see how the next couple of days go! This has also really cut into our fun/social calendar. We were planning trips to take in the Big One, the South Dakota State Fair. But, with the troubles we've had here with all three of us, it looks like we're staying put for a relaxing long weekend, Honestly, I'm ok with that, but it's a bummer to cancel plans and stay put. Maybe next year when we go on the faris wheel ride, Big O can go along with us. Did I ever tell the story now of why we call her Big O? There is another Olivia at day care. One of my co-workers had a baby AFTER us and named her Olivia as well. Copycat. Anyhow, her daughter goes to the same day care, and there was a vote held amongst the children on how to tell them apart since they have the same name. One of the votes was "Hairy Olivia" (ours) and "Bald Olivia" (the other Olivia is bald). The other thought was use the middle names. Our Olivia is Olivia Hope, the other is Olivia Grace. So there is hope and grace at daycare! It ended up being just Big O and LIttle O. I'm sure we'll have to come up with some explanation to Olivia some day, and tell her it's nothing personal!
