I'll be the first to admit, I really never ever thought I'd be able to pay under $2.00 for a gallon of gas ever again. I've been pleasantly surprised that the price here in Mitchell for a gallon of E30 is $1.60, which I've documented well why I buy that in this earlier post on my trip to Minnesota. So, tonight, I pulled up to the pump to fight the bitter cold and fill up. I got out, and the pump showed that my blend of E30 was priced at $.40. WHAT!?!! I wanted to see if it was really true, so I pumped it, but it was just a mistaken display, the fuel was priced at normal price. Then, I had to think about what I would have done at that point if it would have been 40 cents. Do you go in and say something? After these people made a ton of money off us all summer, do you really think I'd want to be nice about them not charging enough. Good thing that I didn't have to cross that bridge, because it would have been a tough decision.
We had tonight off from the basketball court, and will be off until 2009, when we'll try to be over .500 for first time this year. Well, tomorrow night, I'll finally be off call. I maybe didn't mention that, but I don't remember. I was placed on call for the first time in my career this weekend, and all the way up until early morning on December 24. I'll be home for Christmas Eve, and be back here late Christmas Day so I can work again on December 26. It's been kinda quiet around here already, but sometimes, it's even kind of enjoyable. I did get some Christmas presents wrapped tonight though. I've got extra wrapping paper, so any future birthday presents that people I know might get might have "Happy Holiday" wrapping paper.
